I am very excited to join the Hall community. I look forward meeting our students and to an adventure of fun and learning. I am not actually new to the Hall community. I worked closely with Mr. Graves at Hall as an administrative practicum student during the 2014-2015 school year. I also have spent the last six years as a special education instructional facilitator and this role included work at Hall as well.
This year we will continue with high expectations of our students and their progress toward the learning standards. In an effort to achieve at these high expectations, we will continue our focus on growth mindset. Students with a growth mindset understand that with practice and hard work, they will reach their learning goals. They take risks and understand that mistakes are the path to learning. We believe that all students have the ability to grow and that success is not an outcome of an innate talent or gift. Students who have not met a learning target are simply, “not their yet.” You may hear your student mention the word, “grit.” Grit is a term we use to describe hard work and perseverance toward learning.
The Hall staff is committed to continue working collaboratively to provide quality academics for all students. We work together with our students, families and community to ensure that each student is prepared for a lifetime of learning, career opportunities and to become a contributing member to the Gresham community.
Thank you to the Hall community for your support for our students.
